Bolivia 2016 - update from Pastor Joel

Dear Gateway Bible Church…

I thank God for the opportunity He game me to travel and spend 8 days in city of "Santa Cruz de la sierra" in Bolivia. A big thank you to "Gateway Bible Church" for making this trip possible.

It was a great blessing to have this opportunity to meet other believers, brothers and sisters, whom like me are working for the Lord. First on that list is Pastor Matias who, along with his family, hosted us in his house and showered us with a lot of attention. Words are not enough to express my gratitude. I thank God for him and the work his is doing in the Churches around the city and others towns.

The conference of "Biblical Exposition" was a huge encouragement since more than 50 men including some Pastors and a good numbers of ladies attended. They were eager to learn on "how to better handle the Bible" that showed the desire they have to improve so they can be better preachers and teachers.

But the highlight on this trip was when Alex and I went to visit the Church of the "Toronjal" on Sunday morning to preach. This humble group of brothers and sisters welcomed us with a lot of joy and they were ready to hear from God's word.

Sometimes you get to a place thinking that you are going to be a blessing but at the end you are the one getting the blessing, and that exactly what happened to us. Seeing the children come to Sunday School when many of their parents are not believers or not attending Church regularly was huge blessing. Hearing them singing and reciting the memory verse after the class, touched my heart very deeply, I will never forget them.

I finish this by saying: "Let’s keep praying for the Churches in Bolivia. Let’s keep supporting them by either going over there to help, helping others to go there, or by giving our offering whichever way the Lord will guide us"

Please pray for me that the Lord will give another opportunity to go back as I'm able to do so. It is my desire to help as much as I can and in any way that the Lord shows me to.

God Bless you all.

Pastor Joel Umanzor
